Strength & Conditioning
“I am always grateful to be a part of an athlete’s journey, in discovering their full potential of their power through movement, with consistent training and wisdom. That is what I love to teach.” Yasmen Mehta
This program is informed by all the knowledge I have gained as a senior coach for San Francisco CrossFit in the last 8 years. It does not matter if you are a beginner or at an advanced level. I will meet and challenge you at whatever level you are at. You could be a professional athlete just trying to keep good general conditioning for your body and stay ready for your training or game, an athlete who may have to sit at a desk all day and then go out and play hard a few days a week, or a woman who just needs to keep her bone density up after menopause.
You will learn systematically and progressively how to brace and breath fully, and at the same time, squat, lift, press, pull, jump and land and many other functional movements. You will see your body responding with exponential growth in power to good positioning and will understand how to overcome compensations. The metabolic conditioning component will challenge your heart rate and improve your overall fitness. Expect to gain endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. For athletes already in a sport, this general physical preparedness will up your game and provide a solid and robust platform to launch your training from. My program addresses injury, not just healing and strengthening, but understanding movement patterns that might have attributed to it and simple methods to start fixing it through mobility.
I am meticulous in the technical aspects of my teaching and can explain the most complex issues in the simplest of terms. It is all about training smarter, not necessarily harder. When an athlete has a light bulb go off, and they realize that with one small change in body positioning, they can increase their power – it’s so rewarding and thrilling to see.
